Julia's in a baby contest!
For those of you viewing this who do not subscribe to the Jacksonville Journal-Courier, there is currently a "Baby of the Year" contest going on. There are 125 babies in this contest who are being voted on. The top 12 babies will have their picture in a 2008 calendar, and the baby with the highest number of votes will also have their picture on the cover of the calendar. Each vote costs $.25 and goes toward the Newspapers in Education program. If you'd like to vote for Julia, feel free to contact us for a ballot and other information. She is baby #3 (atleast for the first round, which ends on August 17th). After several rounds (where babies will gradually be reduced to only 12), the final voting will end on September 28th, with the winners being announced on September 30th.
As of Thursday, August 9th, of the 125 babies, Julia is #7 (with 450 votes so far!) in the running for "Baby of the Year"! The updated results were just published in the newspaper today. The exciting news is that Erin (Julia's mommy) took in 200 extra votes to the Journal-Courier's office on Friday, the 10th, putting Julia about 50 votes ahead of the #1 baby as of Thursday!!
Don't forget to vote for Julia!!
